Welcome!
Here is the manual for our quaint Cottage on Tiber. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Free Parking
The parking spaces on the street directly in front of the house are available 24/7.

Arrival
The 4-digit code to unlock the front door will be the last four digits of your phone number. When you arrive, touch the word Yale to activate the lock, enter your four-digit code on the keypad, then touch the check mark. You will hear the lock slide, and the door unlock. When going out, be sure the front door is closed completely and then firmly press the Yale logo on the keypad. You will hear the lock slide and the front door lock.

Living Room
When entering the house, you will find the main light switch to your left. There are other switches for the overhead spots to the right of the fireplace and near the entrance to the dining room. If you look closely, you will see that most have dimming mechanisms to adjust the brightness. The exterior lights on the front porch come on automatically at dusk.

Temperature Control
The thermostat is in the hall near the bathroom and front bedroom. Use the arrows to adjust the temperature up and down. The system should be set to the right mode for the season.

Television
We do not have cable television. We do have fast internet. You can log in to your Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, etc. via the TV. Use the remote to turn on the TV and select streaming options from the menu. If you want to connect your laptop, there is an HDMI cable attached to the TV. This coiled-up cable runs from the wall into the middle section of the cabinet below the TV. Connect the cable to your computer and use the input selector on the remote to choose the HDMI input. In some cases, you will need to restart your computer after connecting the cable.

JBL Bluetooth Speaker
A portable speaker is in the left side of the cabinet below the TV and available for your use. Feel free to take it anywhere in the house. If you use it outside, be sure to keep the volume at a reasonable level to not disturb our neighbors. Please plug the speaker into the charging cable when you are done using it.

Retro Arcade Game Table - No Quarters Needed!
To turn on the retro arcade table, sit on the right side of the machine (closer to the street) and run your hand down the right side. You will feel a power switch near the bottom. Flip this switch up and the machine will start. It takes about a minute or so to warm up.

Use the joystick to select the game you want to play. Hit the player one button to confirm the game. Hit the one button again to add credits as needed. Then hit the one or two player button to designate the number of players.

To exit a game, hold down the player one button until you see a pop-up window. Use the joystick to select exit. Hit the player one button to return to the main menu.

Please shut the machine off when not in use.

Books, Cards, and Games
A select is available for your use in/on the shelves and closed cabinets in the living room.

Dining Room
A table and chairs for four are in the dining room. The table has two additional leaves should you need to expand it. The leaves are on the left in the washer/dryer closet in the front bedroom. There is also a bar cart for mixing drinks or to utilize for serving food. You can use the sliding doors to exit to the back porch. There is a dowel in the track that you must lift out first.

Guitar and ukulele
Please enjoy these instruments. They are for you to play! Just return them to the hooks in the dining room when you are done.

Kitchen
Our kitchen contains most things you’ll need for meal preparation. Explore the cabinets to find utensils, pots, pans, etc. The bottom drawer to the left of the sink has a crockpot, toaster, blender, milk frothing machine, and electric tea kettle. We have plenty of cabinets and counter space, a full-size refrigerator, and a combo convection oven-microwave-air fryer. We do not have a traditional stove/oven, so don’t plan to cook a turkey while here! Two high-efficiency countertop induction plates are available to cook stove top items. They are in the bottom drawer around the right from the sink. Specialty pots are in the lower corner cabinet.

Feel free to use condiments and spices on hand. A collapsible dish drying rack and cutting boards are in the spaces below and to the right of the sink. Please wash dishes as you use them. A broom, mop etc. are the tall kitchen cabinets across from the sink. The vacuum and a bucket are in the tall cabinet across from the fridge. **There are two locked cabinets in the kitchen for our personal use.

Trash and Recycling
There is a black trash can to the far side to the fridge for household garbage. There is no need to take this out unless you fill it and need more space. Please throw tied bags of trash in the grey lidded trash bin located outside the back fence. More trash bags can be found in the top drawer of the tall cabinet closest to the back door.

We do recycle! Place these items in the blue recycle bin in front of the kitchen trash can. If this fills up, dump the contents of the blue recycle bin directly into the outside recycle bin with the yellow lid. Please do not bag recycled items.

Front Bedroom
When entering the front bedroom, the switch to the overhead light and fan is on your immediate right. The second switch inside the door illuminates the washer/dryer and walk-in closets. The lamps on each side of the bed are touch lights. Touch three times to cycle through the brightness options to off. These lights have USB charging ports for your electronic devices. If you forgot your charging cable, additional ones can be found in a long basket on the living room shelves nearest the door. More sheets are in the closet. If you have drinks in the bedrooms, please use the provided coasters.

Laundry
A washer and dryer are available inside the first closet in the front bedroom. Laundry detergent is on a small shelf to the right (most easily accessible from the hallway). The small hall closet connected to this area contains an iron and ironing board. Please clean the dryer lint filter after each use.

Back Bedroom
When entering the back bedroom, the switch for the overhead light and fan is on your left. The lamps on each side of the bed are touch lights. Touch three times to cycle through all brightness options to off. These lights have USB charging ports for your electronic devices. If you have drinks in the bedrooms, please use the provided coasters.

Bathroom
We provide body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and a starter pack of paper goods. Long-term guests should be prepared replenish these items as needed.

The shelves under the sink contain towels, washcloths, and extra bins to help corral your toiletries. A hair dryer is under the sink. A first aid kit is on a shelf above the toilet.

*Please use toilet paper sparingly. Do not put feminine products, Kleenex, paper towels, or any additional items in the toilet as our older plumbing is sensitive.

Outdoor Space & Fire Pit
Please enjoy our newly refurbished outdoor space! We do have neighbors. Please keep noise to a minimum. If you wish to use the fire pit, you will need to bring your own wood. The easiest option is to purchase Duraflame logs available at grocery and other stores.
