Maxi Driver

“You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me? Well, then who the Hell else are you talking- You talking to me?” ~ Travis Bickle

The Maxi Driver is a tube boost/overdrive pedal inspired by Matsumin’s Valvecaster. The pedal is designed to be placed in front of a tube amplifier or amp simulator to add more gain to your input signal. The Maxi Driver is not a distortion pedal, but and overdrive with plenty of boost on tap. Turning up the gain knob will add nice crunch to your guitar tone. With the gain knob dialed back, it makes an excellent clean boost pedal as well.

The Maxi Driver is hand-wired, and features point-to-point construction. The included tube is a Sino 12AU7. A Cinch bakelite N.O.S. tube socket is fitted to capture as much of that old school mojo as possible. Metal film resistors and box metallized polyester film capacitors are used for maximum reliability and noise reduction. Also employed, are huge 24mm Alpha potentiometers, vintage flying saucer knobs, Switchcraft jacks, an LED indicator, an 18AWG ground buss bar, and, fat 22AWG PTFE wire throughout. Velcro comes preinstalled, so it’s ready to go right onto your pedal board.

Power for the Maxi Driver is supplied by a standard 9 volt negative-center DC jack to integrate seamlessly with your existing power supply. It can also run on 12 volts for more headroom and oomph. No battery clip is supplied, but can be added as an option at additional cost.

Do not run the Maxi Driver at voltages higher that 12 volts! This will greatly diminish the life of the tube.

The Maxi Driver also carries a full lifetime warranty. If it breaks anytime during my lucid lifetime, I will repair it or replace it free of charge. This warranty does not include the tube (normal tube life at 12 volts is over 2000 hours).
